National Lasagna Day

National Lasagna Day is today. We hope you have a big appetite. Sure, it's July. Its hot and humid. Cooking up a pan of Lasagna will make the kitchen a lot hotter. But as it cooks, the smell will waft throughout the house. Your mouth will begin to water. When dinner time arrives, you will have a huge appetite for a huge piece of lasagna. Of this, you can be certain.

Lasagna is a favorite Italian dish. In between multiple layers of lasagna pasta are generous amounts of tomato sauce, cheeses, and sometimes hamburger and/or Italian sausage. Its the favorite Italian dish of millions of Americans. We all would eat it more often, but this culinary work of art, made with loving hands, takes time to make and bake.

It is best to celebrate National Lasagna Day by baking the lasagna that you will eat today. If you don't have the time, or the weather is just too hot, then head out to your favorite Italian restaurant.

Mehmet Oz's eldest daughter welcomed her first child with husband John Jovanovic on Wednesday, Feb. 26 in New York, her rep confirmed to Us Weekly. Their daughter arrived at 10:03 p.m., weighing 6 lbs, 13 oz., and is 20.5 inches long. Grandpa Oz wasted no time meeting his first grandchild. "My daughter @DaphneOz delivered her first child!" he tweeted Thursday, Feb. 27. "I'm holding my beautiful granddaughter now. Thank you for all the well-wishes & prayers!"

Imagine my surprise seeing Chef Jacquelyn Sowards of Southern California on the second season of The Taste, and ABC cooking show with Anthony Bourdain, Nigella Lawson, Ludo Lefebvre and Marcus Samuelson as judges. Chef Jacquelyn is on Nigella Lawson's team. Chef Jacquelyn is one of the most sought after chefs in Los Angeles, Hollywood and Beverly Hills to cater that special event. I needed to plan a private dinner event for 50 guests and I had heard of Chef Jacquelyn and wanted to try her out. After speaking with her (She's very friendly), I booked Jacquelyn and I'm so glad that I did! All the guests at the dinner party were raving about the food and service and how perfect the whole night was. The main thing everyone kept taling about was how great the food was!
